Artifact Donations:
The Museum of the Republic of Vietnam is deeply honored and grateful for any artifacts from the history and culture of the Republic of Vietnam, the war in Vietnam, and the Saigon Diaspora.
An "artifact" by definition is an object used by humans as a tool to achieve some purpose.
In this way, the museum views objects from the history to which it is dedicated as artifacts since they serve an important function as tools for facilitating learning.
When a visitor to the museum sees an original artifact from this history on display, whether that be a uniform, a patch, documents, photographic images, or any other type of object from this history, it holds priceless value as a means by which the visitor can establish a connection to this history.
Being able to bear witness to this history by virtue of seeing its artifacts up close and in person resonates with visitors who then become curious to ask questions about the artifact, which serves as a gateway for learning.
Every artifact donated to the museum is cared for with the utmost professional archival standards of the museum field with an eye towards long-term preservation and safekeeping.
In addition to the artifacts on display within protective cases at the museum, the museum also maintains a climate-controlled storage room for artifacts where they are carefully cataloged and documented.
Each artifact has many stories to tell, and it is through the generous contribution of supporters of the museum that we are able to preserve these and share them publicly so that others can have the chance to come and learn of their history.
The museum is happy to travel to your location to arrange the receiving of any artifact donations you may have for the museum.
Donations of artifacts can also be made at the museum any time during normal open hours.
The museum eagerly accepts all variety of artifacts, books, documents, photographs, and material related to the history for which the museum is dedicated.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have anything you would be kind enough to donate to help the museum.
