The mission of the Museum of the Republic of Vietnam (MuseumRVN) is to honor the veterans who served with and alongside the Republic of Vietnam (1955-1975), to preserve the history of the Republic through the gathering and documenting of its artifacts and the memories of those who experienced it firsthand, and to provide a space open to all as a resource for learning's the fascinating stories of the place in time that was the Republic of Vietnam , so that the memory of the lives of the many people who are this history are never forgotten.
The history of the Republic of Vietnam is synonymous with that of the worldwide diaspora we can see around us today.
This culture of the Saigon Diaspora, its people, and their identity originates in the history of the Republic of Vietnam.
The flag of the Republic of Vietnam is that of the diaspora. To know the history of the Republic is not only to know the history of the war in Vietnam, but to know the foundation upon which the culture of the worldwide Saigon Diaspora was born.
The stories of hope and community, of heroism and sacrifice, of victory and loss, of honor and betrayal, of hardship and sorrow, of persecution and ethnic cleansing, and of survival to overcome unimaginable adversity that are the collective history of the Republic of Vietnam and its diaspora are testament to the spirit of eternal spirit of endurance that speaks with a relevance to all humanity as part of the human experience.
The museum welcomes individuals of all ages and cultural backgrounds to visit the museum, participate in museum programs, and be encouraged to learn about this significant history so as to honor, respect, and preserve its memory.
Admission to the museum is always FREE.
